GO FIRE-DRAGONS!

Whitney's first soccer game! She done wonderful, she was a lot more aggressive than I ever imagined her to be. She actually paid attention and did not have the typical Whitney "I don't care" attitude. I am so proud of her and I am happy to see Dan volunteer his time as her coach. I know it means a lot to Whitney! CHEERS to a great season ahead of us!

Picture this . . .

So I just have to share a couple conversations I have had in the last 24 hours with my little kindergarten. If you know Whitney at all you can totally picture this . . .

Mom is standing next to the truck with the back door open to get the kiddos from school. Remind you that it is Whitney's first day of all day kindergarten. She comes running with brother and sister with a smile. All is going well until our conversation begins and here it goes:
Mom: Hey sweetie how was school to day?
Whitney: Not good (as she walks by me and slams the truck door)
Mom: (after getting in the truck) What happened?
Whitney: (One hand on hip the... other pointing a finger at me) I told you I should not do long day, I am to tired for this!
Mom: (trying to hold back the laughter) Oh it will get easier next week!
Whitney: (very excited) tells me all about her 1st day and how the Gingerbread man got away!

So then trying to start out on a better note, this is the conversation I have with her on our way to work/school this morning. Picture if you will . . .
Mom: Are you going to have a better day at school today?
Whitney: Are you taking the camera? When you take pictures of me in the lunch room it is embarrassing! (then starts sucking her thumb and looking out the window).

YES, and this is only kindergarten! What am I in for?????????

LEAVING SCHOOL EMPTY HANDED . . . .

As most of you know that follow my blog I began working at Northlake Elementary when Georgette was attending the pre-school there. Dalton and Georgette would go to work with me and when I was done at 11:30 I would pick Georgette up and we would go home together. The next year she was in kindergarten so we followed the same routine. Then last year Whitney started preschool at Northlake so for 4 out of 5 of my work days I would leave the school hand in hand with Whitney.
Well today, I left the school to walk out into the parking lot and had no hand to grab. Momma Morgan walked to the truck empty handed and I am not quite sure how I feel about this yet.

Monday began a new school year, which was nothing new to me! However, today was the first day of kindergarten for my baby. All day kindergarten at that! Here are a few pictures of my oldest two on their first day and some of Whitney today on her first day of school.

There are a lot of first's for me this year and I hope I can survive. Leaving school empty handed and not checking on Dalton before I leave. I am trying to give him a little room to grow up, but boy is it hard to wait from 11:30 until 12:15 when I finally get the call to let me know his BG is ok. Mamma Morgan is trying to get over her control issues and boy is it tough! However, I am looking forward to an exciting year and I love working where my kiddos go to school!

Ophir Day 8-1-09

OPHIR DAY

August 1, 2009 the kids and I got up early to go meet their dad in Ophir. He had to be up there bright and early to cook the annual breakfast for Ophir Day. After eating a delicious breakfast the kids had another day filled with games, face painting, bridge crossing, zip line riding and etc. We finished the day off with a big dutch oven dinner at the Morgan Camp with the all of Dan's family and then stayed the night up the canyon. A great day and a wonderful end to a busy week. Thanks for all the fun MORGAN'S!

JOHNSON REUNION

JOHNSON FAMILY REUNION

JULY 30th, 31st and August 1st was the annual Johnson Reunion. It was a great time with good food and good company. The theme this year was TAKE ME OUT TO THE BALL GAME. They had a ton of activities that were played in tournaments to determine the winners. The kids had a ton of fun. Then thanks to the Allreds, we had an outdoor movie night with Prestons big screen and movie projector. Nicole brought the popcorn machine and cotton candy machine, it was great. Lots of good memories!

SWIMMING LESSONS

I figured since summer was almost over I better get the kids into swim lessons. We started July 20th and finished up on July 31st. It was great they took the last session before the pool opened for the public so we were able to stay after and swim for free almost every day for a few hours after. It helped that we took lessons with great friends, thanks Jen Willis and Jen Payne family for putting up with us for two weeks at the pool!
