YES, I DID IT! LETS SEE HOW LONG IT LASTS

Okay so I caved and I deactivated my Facebook account. It has been 24 hours now and I am pretty sure I could call Facebook an addiction. I decided as much as I loved talking with everyone and seeing what was going, it was a distraction from the important things in life, such as, my kids, sleep, my house, sleep, sleep and more sleep. I guess I don't need to know what everyone ate for breakfast or what time they went to bed. (LOL)

As you can tell it kept me from my blog as well. My last post was Dalton's Birthday on March 7 and well it is May 24th and a whole lotta of important things have happened. So forgive me this may be a very lengthy post, but I will try my hardest to keep it short and to the point and then I will just do one big slide show to spot light the important events.

Somewhere between then and now Daniel was offered a job in Pueblo, Colorado. It was a stressful time trying to decide what was best for our family. Even though we did not see eye to eye on the final decision, I ultimately left it up to him. Just because it was him going to a new job, him having to leave the family to go to work while we finished the school year, and well I guess I thought he would know best. I was surprised when he decided to stay, maybe even a little resentful, but I am willing to support him and there is no looking back now!

On March 30, 2010 our Cub Scouts had there Blue & Gold. The theme was Happy Birthday BSA, since we are celebrating 100 years of scouting this year. It was bitter sweet, because the following Sunday I was released as Committee Chair in the Cub Scout, but in the next breath the bishop called me to Activity Days Leader for the 8-11 year old girls in our ward. Excited for the new calling but sad to leave the boys!

April 2-4 Easter weekend we were supposed to go to Yuba Lake to spend Easter with the family, but the weather was anything but cooperative for this. We stayed home and spent a lot of time together as a family. Because we stayed home we were able to attend the Chamber of Commerce Easter Egg Hunt at Deseret Peak and Dalton found a prize egg and he won a bike. He was so excited.

April means it is the beginning of Soccer and Softball. Daniel is coaching soccer for our Little Miss Whitney and the Fire Dragons. I am coaching Miss Georgette and the Erda Ball team. It keeps us busy with soccer practice, soccer games, softball practice, softball games, dance, Dan is still in cubs and me in Activity Days our calendar is always full. Also I am still teaching Bully Blockers in the afternoon, volunteering in Whitney and Georgette class on Tuesday afternoons and subbing every afternoon I can get my hands on. Yep we never have a dull moment in our home.

April 30, 2010 As you know from my previous posts, Dalton passed hunter safety with flying colors. Well he talked his dad into buying him a Turkey Tag and he got his shotgun for his birthday, so April 30 was a countdown for him. It was opening day of the Turkey Hunt. He had been gearing up for the hunt for months. He woke up bright and early and headed out to hunt, surprisingly I received a text around 7:30 a.m. it was picture of Dalton with a turkey. I thought his dad had taken a picture of him with the decoy, so my reply was ha ha very funny. Then I got the phone call and excitement does not even describe the tone of his voice. I knew then it was the real deal. Congratulations Dalton!

May 1, 2010 Georgette's 8th Birthday. How exciting it was for us when we found out the stake baptism fell on her birthday. We had a lot to celebrate that day and we did celebrate to the fullest with great friends and family. That morning she woke up and opened the presents from us, Dalton and Whitney. Then it was off to the Stake Center to her Baptism. She looked so beautiful in her white dress Grandma Connie made for her. Dan looked so handsome in his suit. I am thankful for him and the priesthood he holds to be able to lead our family and take care of the things that we need as a family. Georgette was so excited to be baptized she did awesome. Following the Baptism and Confirmation we headed to the Stockton Church for a great lunch, birthday cake and ice cream. Our family and friends are wonderful and they made this day extra special for Miss Georgette. Thanks Everyone!

May 3-5 Well this is not exciting to note about, but it was part of our life. Whitney was playing on the playground while I was having a softball practice. She came crying to me saying she had fallen of the monkey bars. I did the usual mom thing, Can you move it? Can you squeeze my finger? Can you touch the top of your head? By then she had stopped crying, there was no bruising nor swelling. So I carried on with my practice. Later that night she complained about it being sore, but nothing to run to the ER about, I thought. Tuesday morning she got up as usual, still no bruising or swelling, she just mentioned a couple times about it being sore but wanted to go to school. I told her teacher if she complained to let me know. After school her teacher said she used it but that she had let out a squeal when it got bumped, so I called her doctor and he had me come in Wednesday morning. Sure enough her elbow was broke! He said she must have a high tolerance to pain, he put a soft cast on and referred us to a specialist. The next morning we were back into the doctor, she put a hard cast on and we are supposed to come back in 3 weeks to exchange it for a soft cast so we can start therapy. Yep I surely felt like Mother of the Year after those two appointments.

May 14, 2010 Grantsville Dance Spring Recital. The girls done wonderful even with the cast on. I found yellow vet wrap to wrap Whitneys cast in so it would match her 1st dance outfit and then took it off so the pink cast would match her 2nd outfit. Georgette done wonderful I was a little nervous because her teacher said she had not seemed to be enjoying dance this year and I could never get her to practice like in the past, so I was a little nervous, but she done beautiful. She has come out of her shell and she performed like a professional. I love my little dancers!

So as you can see we have been busy, busy. This next two weeks with school wrapping up we have something every day and night so I will be updating soon. I love my kids and I love that I can be with them every day at school. I am truly blessed and thankful for my family and friends that support me in all I do.

Yay you on the facebook thing! That's exactly it, fb is a distraction. To quote conference, something doesn't have to be evil to be a distraction! Wow, a lot going on for you! Lots of blessings!
